Isn't Sunday supposed to be a FUN day??

Isn't there that saying? As I sit here slaving away on lesson plans?? Oh yeah.. wait a minute... I slacked off this week as I am still in a Spring Break stupor and didn't get my lesson plans done earlier in the week. Anyhow, I am done with this week's plans and am working on next week's plans. This week I am doing A Fruit is a Suitcase for a Seed   from MacMillan's Treasure's series and I am also doing Jack and the Beanstalk to go along with it. Here is a look at my centers this week:

My school does the walk-to model where students are grouped by reading ability-- not always my cup of tea but "I does what I 's is told". My group is the comprehension/enrichment group so the skills my kiddos work on are more challenging (especially in my small group when I meet with them as those are the skills we are currently working on and sometimes not as I remediate, too) and the center skills are maintenance and sometimes review skills. As loyal followers to my blog, I am giving you all copies of my "The Hen with the Golden Eggs" center. It is available on my TPT store for $2.50 (now if you want to be nice and buy it you can but why when you can get it for FREE?) for non-followers. It's just my way of saying "thanks for being a follower as I try to build up my blog site! If you download it, let me know what you think of it. I made it as a way of something to do with this Easter eggs that I had all over my house because of my two lovely children. Also, if you are out and about and you find the dinosaur version of these eggs (see pic below), please buy them (they are probably on clearance!!!) because when you do your study of dinosaurs, you can make a center out of them, too... (the image you see is NOT the exact version but it is from the same company).

And I will share that center with you, too as the time comes closer! So, now for the center you've been waiting for:
(as you can see my golden eggs have been well used!!! Also a management tip.. I could be cute and place them in a basket with grass but I find that they don't keep track of the ones they've already used so I keep it in the carton... Not as cute but at least they know they can go down one row and then the next.... )

Just click on the picture and it will take you to google docs.  The center is originally for r-controlled words of ir, er, ur but I have included a blank recording page for your use for whatever word study you are doing.
Again, it's FREE if you download it through my blog!

Well now my fun day got even FUN-er because now I have to grade papers and put them into the grading system! In the next few weeks stay tuned for great ideas on:

* insects
* Earth Day
*space
*Mother's Day/Father's Day
*oceans

Have a super rest of the day!!!
